[Art & Beauty] A New New World: SUPERFACE × K&L Museum

From August 30 to December 27, 2026, K&L Museum presents Wifredo Lam: A New New World, the first exhibition in Korea dedicated to Cuban-born artist Wifredo Lam (1902–1982).
Born of Chinese and Afro-Spanish heritage, Lam developed a distinctive visual language shaped by multiple cultures, histories, and artistic traditions. By bringing Afro-Caribbean history and diasporic experience into dialogue with the European avant-garde, he expanded the boundaries of modernism and created an artistic world that could not be defined by any single region or cultural tradition.
As part of this exhibition, SUPERFACE joined K&L Museum in a special VIP skincare gifting collaboration, bringing art, culture, and beauty together within one shared experience.
1. A New New World: Wifredo Lam Beyond Boundaries
At the heart of the K&L Museum exhibition is Lam’s printmaking practice.
Over nearly four decades, Lam worked closely with poets, writers, publishers, and master printers, creating a rich field of exchange between image and text, literature and visual art, personal imagination and collective history.
The exhibition brings together more than 50 prints, four original artist books, archival photographs, and related materials, tracing the development of Lam’s graphic language from 1945 through the early 1980s.
Presented across three thematic sections, the exhibition follows his early experiments, major literary portfolios of the 1960s and 1970s, and the condensed, calligraphic forms of his later years.
The title A New New World is drawn from Alain Jouffroy’s 1975 monograph Le nouveau Nouveau monde de Lam, reflecting the exhibition’s focus on Lam’s artistic legacy through printmaking and literary collaboration.
For SUPERFACE, this spirit of exchange and transformation resonates with the belief that beauty can also emerge from the meeting of different disciplines, perspectives, and forms of expression.
2. Exclusive Curated Gifts for K&L Museum VIPs
To mark the exhibition, K&L Museum VIP guests were presented with a curated selection of SUPERFACE skincare products, prepared to complement the refined cultural setting of the museum.

Core Message |
Artistic vision and scientific precision brought together through art, culture, and skincare |
More than a gifting presentation, the collaboration placed SUPERFACE within a broader cultural context, where art, beauty, and modern living could be experienced as part of the same conversation.

3. Artistic Vision. Scientific Precision.
SUPERFACE approaches skincare through the meeting of artistic intuition and scientific development.
This philosophy found a natural connection within K&L Museum, where visual culture, historical context, and contemporary ideas come together through exhibition and experience.
Artistic Vision. Scientific Precision.
For SUPERFACE, this philosophy reflects a commitment to combining creative perspective with carefully developed skincare.
Through this VIP collaboration, SUPERFACE extended that philosophy beyond the product itself and into a cultural setting shaped by art.
Just as Wifredo Lam developed a unique artistic language through the intersection of different cultures and disciplines, SUPERFACE continues to explore how beauty can be shaped through the meeting of art, science, design, and everyday ritual.

4. The Art of Modern Living
Engaging with art and caring for skin may belong to different parts of daily life, but both can be understood as intentional acts of attention, taste, and self-expression.
SUPERFACE’s collaboration with K&L Museum for Wifredo Lam: A New New World reflects the brand’s continued exploration of meaningful connections across contemporary art, fashion, design, culture, and beauty.
SUPERFACE will continue to seek new ways of bringing its philosophy into cultural spaces where creativity, discovery, and modern living intersect.
